Dr Monika Humeniuk of the Institute of Pedagogy provided the scientific direction.

The conference dealt with climate change, environmental crises, ecology, imagination in the Anthropocene era, and the tasks facing pedagogy and education in the broader sense as a result. A letter from Malgorzata Tracz, MP, addressed to those attending the conference, regarding the important role of climate education in the Anthropocene era, was read out during the proceedings.

During both conference days, the collection of signatures for a legislative initiative was underway, during which activists from the Oder Tribe collected more than 600 signatures in favor of granting legal personality to the Oder River. In summing up the proceedings, prof. dr hab. Maria Mendel made a motion for the post-conference formulation of an official pro-climate proclamation and an invitation to other academic centers to join the efforts thus initiated to develop and implement a common climate strategy. After the deliberations, a group of conference participants took part in a curatorial tour with Ms. Joanna Kobylt of the corresponding exhibition , “Świątynia Baśni” at the BWA Main Station Gallery.

During the two-day session, more than 70 speakers representing such disciplines as physics, biology, pedagogy, philosophy, sociology, cultural anthropology, political science, cultural and religious studies, Polish studies, English studies, theology, architecture and others spoke in three plenary sessions and twelve panel sections. The sessions were held at various locations of the University of Wrocław: the Oratorium Marianum, the Collegium Anthropologicum, the offices of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, and the Institute of Pedagogy. Among those attending were doctoral students from various fields of study, male and female students, female educators, male and female teachers. The conference would not have taken place without the tremendous commitment of the Directorate of the Institute of Pedagogy, the scientific committee and the organising team of the conference, as well as the administrators of the spaces where the sessions were held and those providing technical support.
