What will be left of us? Geology – a film journey through the Baltic Sea
You are cordially invited to a screening of the film ‘Co po nas zostanie? Geologia’ directed by the Foundation Nauka. To lubię, which was made during an expedition of young geologists from the University of Wrocław to the Baltic Sea.
From 4 to 15 August last year, the UWr Student Scientific Association of Geologists took part in the ‘GeoBaltic Adventure – Sailing Through Time’ cruise on the Baltic Sea. Under the patronage of UWr Rector prof. Robert Olkiewicz and the foundation Nauka. To Lubię, students explored the geology of the Baltic coast from the Precambrian to the present day, while honing their teamwork skills. Among the 25 participants was dr Tomasz Rożek, a renowned science populariser.
During the event:
- Dr Tomasz Rożek will talk about what fascinated him about geology.
- We will listen to students’ stories about geology and sailing.
- Officers of the STS Generał Zaruski sailing ship will introduce us to the history of one of Poland’s most beautiful sailing ships and tell us about the realities of a sailor’s life.
- We will talk about the implementation of joint projects by the Foundation Nauka. To lubię with the Student Scientific Association of Geologists of the University of Wrocław and about future plans.
- We will talk to our guests – Q&A.
The event is held under the honorary patronage of His Magnificence Rector of the University of Wrocław, prof. dr hab. Robert Olkiewicz.
