Lower Silesian Congress of Mathematics Teachers

The Lower Silesian Congress of Secondary School Mathematics Teachers from the Lower Silesian Voivodship and surrounding areas will be held on 7 March this year at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Wrocław. The programme includes lectures by prof. Ludomir Newelski and prof. Jacek Świątkowski, workshops led by dr Jarosław Wróblewski and a meeting on the use of artificial intelligence in the didactics of mathematics.

The conference will include lectures, workshops and meetings on the role of artificial intelligence in the teaching of mathematics. Distinguished speakers will be present:

  • prof. dr hab. Ludomir Newelski – lecture: O dowodach
  • prof. dr hab. Jacek Świątkowski – lecture: Elementy teorii perspektywy jako tworzywo i inspiracja w grafice i sztuce
  • dr Jarosław Wróblewski – workshop: Wzory skróconego mnożenia i inne tożsamości wielomianowe
  • Grzegorz Jagiella, Michał Marcinkowski, Michał Śliwiński – meeting: Narzędzia sztucznej inteligencji w dydaktyce matematyki

The conference will be held at the Institute of Mathematics, University of Wrocław (pl. Grunwaldzki 2, 50-384 Wrocław). The event is co-financed from the budget of the Self-Government of the Lower Silesian Voivodship and takes place under the patronage of the Lower Silesian Superintendent of Education.

First part:
9:00-10:00 Registration of participants (hall of the Institute of Computer Science).
10:00-10:10 Welcome and organisational information (Room 25 of the Institute of Computer Science, ground floor).
10:10-10:25 Meeting with Piotr Świędrych, Director of the District Examination Commission (room 25, ground floor).
10:30-11:15 Lecture by Jacek Świątkowski: Elementy teorii perspektywy jako tworzywo i inspiracja w grafice i sztuce (room 25, ground floor).
11:30-12:30 Workshop by Jarosław Wróblewski Wzory skróconego mnożenia i inne tożsamości wielomianowe (room 25, ground floor).

Second part:
12:30-13:00 Coffee break (ground floor of the Institute of Computer Science).
13:00-14:00 Meeting on the use of artificial intelligence in the teaching of mathematics (room 25, ground floor).
14:15-15:00 Lecture by Ludomir Newelski: O dowodach (room 25, ground floor).
15:00        Refreshments (first floor of the Institute of Computer Science, rooms 140, 141).
