Recruitment for the Academy of Young Scholars and Artists!
The Academy of Young Scholars and Artists is recruiting new members. This year will mark 15 years since the establishment of this first-in-Poland platform for cooperation and intellectual exchange dedicated to outstanding young science students.
Membership in the Academy is open to individuals under 35, with outstanding scientific achievements. Candidates should show interest in active cooperation with representatives of various fields of science and art. The term of office of an Academy member is 5 years. The Academy is to unleash the potential, boldness and unconventionality of young minds and become a stimulator of the development process of the so-called “knowledge triangle”. It helps shape the image of Wrocław as an ambitious academic and scientific centre friendly to young people.
Activities of the Academy:
The results of cooperation between AMUiA members are original initiatives drawing on science and art, such as the project “Caspar Neumann. Dusze i fundusze. Księga narodzin i pogrzebów dla miasta Wrocławia”, publications or socially important initiatives, such as the conference “Dimensions of Loneliness” and the author’s composition concert accompanying it as part of the “Wrocław Year of Good Relations – Against Loneliness” campaign. Members of the Academy are constantly involved in the student scholarship program for doctoral students, as well as creating numerous popular science projects. Currently, they are developing the concept of an annual workshop for science students (undergraduates and doctoral students) in which the main challenges in scientific work will be discussed, such as problems of ethics or techniques of preparing and presenting scientific papers. The number of initiatives in which members of the Academy have participated in recent years confirms that — thanks to the existence of the Academy — young scientists are finding the Wrocław academic scene a space for interdisciplinary cooperation, combining the seemingly most distant fields of science and art. The activities of the Academy are very positively received in the academic space of Wrocław and provide an opportunity to share scientific passions.
