Prof. Jerzy Jastrzębski passed away

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of the late prof. dr hab Jerzy Jastrzębski, who died on 27 May 2025, born in 1945 in Częstochowa. He was a co-founder and long-standing member of the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication.

A philologist, cultural studies scholar, and media studies expert, prof. Jastrzębski held a doctor of Letters in the Humanities. He was an associate professor at the Ludwik Solski State Drama School in Kraków, Faculty of Puppetry in Wrocław, and a full professor at the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Wrocław.

He will be remembered as a remarkable individual, an outstanding scholar, and a revered authority for generations of students and researchers.
