New edition of the Student Scholarship Programme now open

The next edition of the Student Scholarship Programme is now underway. The Wrocław Academic Centre is launching two calls for scholarship applications: one for doctoral candidates with outstanding academic achievements in fields important to the development of Wrocław, and another for students who have been granted the right to study at a foreign university.

In accordance with Resolution No. XVI/310/25 of the Wrocław City Council of 10 April 2025, concerning the rules and amounts of scholarships awarded to students and doctoral candidates under the Student Scholarship Programme, the following groups are eligible to apply:

– first-year students of long-cycle Master’s programmes and first-cycle programmes at public or non-public universities, studying full-time or part-time, who are laureates of national subject-based Olympiads or competitions entitling them to admission without a standard recruitment process or under preferential conditions;

– third-year and higher-year students of long-cycle Master’s programmes, third-year and higher-year students of first-cycle programmes, and second-cycle students studying full-time or part-time at public or non-public universities, who have obtained the right to study at a foreign university;

– doctoral candidates with outstanding achievements in fields important to the development of Wrocław, studying in Wrocław in third-cycle programmes at public or non-public universities, in academic institutions offering doctoral studies, or in doctoral schools at universities or scientific institutions.

The Wrocław Academic Centre, responding to suggestions made by students interested in the programme, has introduced several notable changes for this edition:

• From this edition onwards, part-time students are also eligible to apply for scholarships under the SSP.
• Students going abroad may now receive a scholarship of 700 PLN per month for up to 9 months (an increase from the previous 500 PLN).
• The minimum grade average required for students applying for a scholarship to study abroad is now 4.0.
• Applicants for scholarships to study abroad must provide a certificate confirming their grade average:
– Students who were on a dean’s leave must attach a certificate confirming the grade average from the last completed semester before the leave began;
– For applications submitted between 1 October and 30 November, a certificate confirming the grade average for the summer semester must be provided;
– For applications submitted between 1 June and 31 July, a certificate confirming the grade average for the winter semester must be provided.

The organiser of the Student Scholarship Programme is the Mayor of Wrocław, and the task is coordinated by the Office for Cooperation with Higher Education Institutions at the Wrocław City Hall.
