On the USOSweb platform, choose:
“Common Section” → “Applications” → “List of applications” → “Application for a place in a Student Residence”.

No. Applications are submitted only electronically.

7. How do I pay the deposit if I apply through USOSweb?

The deposit will be charged after you receive a dormitory place in USOSweb.

⚠️ Do not transfer dormitory payments to your Faculty account number – it will not be valid for dormitory fees.

8. Why can’t I open the dormitory application in USOSweb?

  • You may not be eligible yet. Please check the schedule.
  • Applications can only be opened during the dates listed in the schedule.

9. What if there are mistakes in my application?

You must report changes (e.g. personal details, address) to your Faculty Dean’s Office so they can update them in USOSweb.

If you need to change them after submitting, contact us by email.

10. What if I want to move to another dormitory?

Students who wish to transfer during the academic year may submit a justified request by email to Student Affairs Department (dormitories@uwr.edu.pl).

Room changes within the same dormitory or between Kredka – Ołówek and Słowianka – Parawanowiec are handled by the dormitory administration.

11. Why haven’t I received information about my place?

The accommodation schedule is published at the end of August on each dormitory’s website.

The required documents are listed in the tabs of each dormitory and in the Regulations for accommodation.

Documents required on the day of check-in:
a) confirmation of the deposit payment,
b) student ID card (if issued),
c) ID card/passport – copies (original for verification),

Forms (documents listed under points e, f, g, h) must be downloaded from the website of the relevant dormitory, filled out electronically, printed, signed legibly, and submitted to the dormitory administration on the day of check-in. Templates and instructions on how to complete them are also available on the dormitory’s website.

18. How much does it cost to live in a dormitory?

The University has five dormitories, and prices depend on the chosen dormitory.
A deposit of 1000–2000 PLN is required. Details are in the Regulations for accommodation.

19. What are my chances of getting a place?

If demand is higher than the number of places, priority is given to students with the lowest family income, calculated in the same way as for social scholarships.

20. Can I pay in cash?

No. Payments must be made by bank transfer.

21. Can I choose the dormitory I want?

Yes. The application system allows you to indicate the dormitory where you would like to live. However, due to the limited number of places, there is no guarantee that you will be assigned to your preferred dormitory.

22. Can I live in a single room?

All students/PhD candidates will be accommodated in double rooms (this does not apply to persons with a disability certificate).

Residents who would like to live in a single room may submit a request to the dormitory administration after moving in.

Single rooms will be assigned only if available. In such cases, the deposit amount will be increased.

23. What if I have a disability and want a single room?

After registering your application in USOSweb, email: dormitories@uwr.edu.pl

to request a single room.

24. What is the deposit for?

The deposit secures your reservation and covers potential damages or unpaid fees.

After receiving confirmation of your place in the dormitory, the deposit must be paid into your individual bank account generated in the USOS or SOMA system, or to the account number provided by the dormitory (this usually applies to candidates for fee-paying studies in English).

The deposit ranges from 1000 to 2000 PLN. Detailed information about the exact amount and payment deadline is provided in the Regulations for accommodation.

The deposit will be refunded once the resident has settled all financial and material obligations with the dormitory administration and submitted the required electronically completed refund application. The exact rules for the deposit refund are described in the Regulations for accommodation.

25. What if I do not pay the deposit?

Failure to pay the deposit within the deadline specified in the schedule will be treated as a resignation from the dormitory place and will result in the student/PhD student being removed from the list of persons qualified for accommodation.

26. What if I pay after the deadline?

In such cases, the payment may not be accepted.
The date of payment is considered the day on which the transfer is credited to the individual bank account of the student/PhD student generated in the USOS or SOMA system, or to the account number indicated by the dormitory (if no individual account is assigned).
A transfer made to a faculty account will not cover the dormitory fee.

27. Do I need to submit income documents (as for a social scholarship)?

No, you only declare your income in the USOSweb application.
Supporting documents may be requested only in exceptional cases.

28. How do I calculate income?

Provide the monthly net income per person in your family for the previous year.
Instructions are available in the social scholarship section on the UWr website.

29. Can I get a refund if I move out in the middle of the month?

No. Rent is paid for the full month. Exceptions apply only during examination sessions.

30. When will I receive my deposit refund?

Within at least 30 days after check-out and completing all formalities.
Refund details are in the Regulations for accommodation.

31. What facilities are available in the dormitories?

  • Central location near the Grunwaldzki Campus,
  • Internet and utilities included in rent,
  • Monitoring, laundry rooms, study rooms, TV rooms, gyms,
  • Bedding (blanket, quilt, pillow, bed linen).

32. Are breakfast, cleaning, or laundry services available?

Students are responsible for keeping their own room/module clean.
