Escapetruck returns to Poland
Until 28 October, another edition of the international Escapetruck project will be running in Poland. The vehicle has visited several cities across the country, including Płock, Słupsk, Kołobrzeg, and Zielona Góra. This is a unique educational initiative aimed at raising public awareness of human trafficking in Poland.
Participants were invited to explore a specially designed vehicle – a mobile educational tool in the form of an escape-room-style game – where they could experience the kind of conditions in which victims of human trafficking are held and understand how difficult it is to break free from their captors. The game’s scenario was based on real-life cases, allowing visitors to learn how exploitation works and who can become a victim.
After leaving the vehicle, participants had the opportunity to speak with representatives of the police and border guard, who answered additional questions about the issue.
Initiatives such as this help increase knowledge about how to respond to threats and where to seek support – both of which are crucial in combating human trafficking.
The project is being carried out by the University of Wrocław in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Polish National Police Headquarters, the Polish Border Guard Headquarters, and the Dutch police.
