Spatial planning in municipalities – training by the Institute of Geography and Regional Development
On 18–19 November, dr Anna Grochowska and mgr Piotr Sobkowiak from the Institute of Geography and Regional Development delivered the training course “Planowanie przestrzenne w gminach”, organised as part of the project „Uniwersytet Wrocławski: Rozwój kadr dla dolnośląskiego rynku pracy” (no. FERS.01.05-IP.08-0451/23), funded under the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 programme.
These were two intensive days, covering topics ranging from sustainable development and spatial order, through new solutions introduced by the latest amendment to planning regulations, to decisions on development conditions, digitalisation of processes, and public participation.
The group of participants was very active and diverse: from experienced municipal office employees to individuals just beginning their journey into the world of spatial planning. Many participants discovered with great interest the complexity of Poland’s spatial planning system, including its challenges, ambiguities, and the real implications for space and its users.
The training was marked by intensive work, inspiring discussions, and strong participant engagement.
