Ex-centric Dialogues. A Meeting with Krum Krumov

On behalf of the Ex-centre of Olga Tokarczuk at the Academic Research Centre, we cordially invite you to an event from the series “Ex-centric Dialogues” entitled “The Translator’s Map.”

Our first guest will be Krum Krumov, a lecturer at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, recipient of the Prof. Wanda Smochowska-Petrova Prize and the award of the Bulgarian Translators’ Union. He translates the works of Olga Tokarczuk into Bulgarian.

The meeting will take place on 9 December 2025 at 5:00 pm in the West Chamber Hall of the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication, ul. Fryderyka Joliot-Curie 15. The date is significant, as on the following day, 10 December, the first official Bulgarian edition of the translation of The Books of Jacob will be released. 10 December also marks the anniversary of the death of Jacob Frank, the main protagonist of the novel. The central topic of the meeting will be intercultural communication and its impact on relations between people from different countries.

The meeting will be hosted by dr Małgorzata Kolankowska.
