Szewski Czwartek in March
The Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław invites you to an online lecture titled ‘One event, many stories – Jerusalem 1099’ on 5 March at 6 p.m., which will be given by dr Tomasz Pełech from the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Dr Tomasz Pełech is a historian and graduate of the University of Wrocław and Université Clermont-Auvergne. His research interests focus on the history of the Crusades, the history of Byzantium, and medieval literature, with particular emphasis on the construction of the image of the ‘foreigner’ in source narratives. He is the author of numerous scientific publications, including several books: Obraz obcego w Aleksjadzie Anny Komneny. Przypadek Normanów (Wrocław 2016), Jerozolima zdobyta! Dramat roku 1099 w kilku odsłonach (Wrocław 2021) and Obraz muzułmanów jako obcych w Historia Francorum qui ceperunt Iherusalem. Studia nad warsztatem literackim Rajmunda z Aguilers (Wrocław 2025).
