
Teaching Excellence – a programme to enhance educational quality at the University of Wrocław
We would like to inform you that the University of Wrocław has begun the implementation of the project: “Doskonałość dydaktyczna – program wzmocnienia jakości kształcenia na Uniwersytecie Wrocławskim.” This initiative is a part of the European Funds for Social Development 2021-2027 programme, co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus, contract number: FERS.01.05-IP.08-0244/25-00.
The goal of the project is to increase, by 2029, the effectiveness of the University of Wrocław’s activities aimed at rising and maintaining the quality of the teaching process. This will be achieved through investment in the existing quality assurance infrastructure, as well as the professional development of academic staff and doctoral students in four key areas: digital skills, teaching methodologies, the green transformation, and universal design. This will strengthen the quality of education and align UWr’s educational programme with the needs of the economy, the labour market, and the challenges of the modern world.

Planned activities:
- Structural Development: Enhancing the bodies responsible for teaching quality, specifically the University Committee for the Quality of Education (UKJK) and its sub-committees. Under Task 1, two expert teams within the UKJK will expand their scope of operations: the Team for short-cycle education forms and the Team for quality of education and pro-quality activities. Their work will result in new procedures to improve the quality management system and create a consistent framework for continuous staff development.
- Competency Enhancement: Professional development for teaching staff and doctoral students at the University of Wrocław, including doctoral students enrolled in the University’s Doctoral School. Participants will gain four types of competencies across tasks 2-6:
- Digital skills: through 7 types of specialized training.
- Green transformation Skills: through 2 types of training.
- Pedagogical/teaching skills: through 4 types of training.
- Universal design in education: through 2 types of training.
- Interdisciplinary skills: through specialized training in academic tutoring.
Target audience:
The project is addressed to the University’s teaching staff (academic teachers as defined by Art. 114 of the Law on Higher Education and Science) and doctoral students currently enrolled in the Doctoral School at the University of Wrocław.
The primary result of the project will be the enhancement of competencies in the four aforementioned areas for 315 participants.
