Sekurak Hacking Party at the University of Wrocław!

On 17th of March, the University of Wrocław was as co-organiser of the Sekurak Hacking Party, which took place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.

The event started at 5:30 p.m. The well-known and highly regarded Tomek Turba from the Sekurak team welcomed the participants, thanked the University of Wrocław for organising the event and… and then the main part of the event began!

There were presented three intensive talks, almost without a break, by: Krzysztof Zams, Robert ProXy Kruczek and Tomek Turba.

During his presentation, Krzysiek Zams from the Sekurak team discussed the distributed landscape of home IoT systems and a range of potential issues that may arise creating own smart home. Then the participants had the opportunity to see how MQTT, Zigbee, and Matter may be maliciously exploited in practice in a system managed by a misconfigured Home Assistant hub.

During the second presentation, Robert (ProXy) Kruczek from the Sekurak team discussed web application technologies beyond PHP. It has been proven that it is not the programming language, but the developer who is responsible for the code’s quality and security. Meanwhile, the practical demonstration of identical attacks was carried out on technologies such as: PHP, JSP, ASP and Python.

In Tomek Turba’s presentation on “HexStrike vs OpenClaw” was introduced for participants the contrast between traditional pentests without AI and how artificial intelligence can actually support in this area today. The HexStrike and OpenClaw tools were presented in a practical way, showing where testing is speeded up and where new, previously unknown issues may arise.

The lectures were interspersed with competitions offering attractive prizes. Participants could win tickets to Sekurak. Academy or the Narzędziownik AI training course, together with books published by Securitum, and Sekurak mugs. Congratulations to all the winners!

The short breaks between talks were full of conversation and networking – a common feature of everything associated with Sekurak. Everyone got all the answers on their questions, a signed book, or a group photo.

The event ended almost two hours later than planned.
