Summer school – applications

The University of Wrocław, in cooperation with the European Academy and the University of Edinburgh, is inviting for applying for 35 scholarships that enable participation in the second edition of the interdisciplinary summer school “Summer School in Holocaust Literature and Films: Sites, Memory, Representation”, which will take place from 7-11 September.

The program focuses on the representation of Holocaust literature and cinema, and it also includes visits in significant sites of memory, such as Jewish cemeteries, the White Stork Synagogue and the former concentration camp of Gross-Rosen.

Summer school provides academic lectures with interactive workshops, film screenings with discussion, and a rich program of cultural events. After completing the course, participants may receive 4 ECTS points.

Theme of the program:

  • Landscape and spatial memory,
  • Ecology of genocide and commemoration,
  • Trans-corporeality and material entanglements,
  • Pedagogy and communication of Holocaust memory,
  • Writing for young audiences

The scholarship includes:

A group dinner (in Jewish restaurant)

Who can apply for the summer school:

Master’s and PhD students, post-docs and early-career researchers from all over the world.
