Men’s Health and Ageing- Research Study
The Department of Human Biology at the University of Wrocław invites men aged 45-55 and 20-30 to participate in a scientific study investigating how hormones and genetics influence men’s health, physical condition, fertility, and the aging process.
“Each of us ages differently- some people maintain good health and fitness for longer, while others experience the effect of ageing more quickly. We want to understand why this happens in men and what role male hormones may play in this process. The study focuses on how the body allocates its resources between functions related to reproduction (such as fertility and traits associated with attractiveness) and maintaining health and physical fitness. We are particularly interested in the role of testosterone (and other androgens) as well as the body’s sensitivity of their effects- that is, how strongly the body responds to them”, emphasise the organisers of the study.
Participation of the study includes:
- detailed biochemical and hormonal blood tests,
- assessment of body composition and psychical fitness,
- analysis of semen parameters,
- genetic testing.
Participation in the study is free of charge and requires only time, commitment, and adherence to scheduled appointments.
Detailed information about the study, the application form, and contact information for the organisers are available on the website.
The study is funded by the National Science Centre.
