The UWr Council what are its tasks?

The Council, next to the rector and the senate, is the most important body of a public university. Its tasks include:

  • giving opinions on the draft strategy of the higher education institution and the report on its implementation,
  • giving opinions on the draft statutes,
  • monitoring university management,
  • suggesting candidates for the rector,
  • monitoring the financial management of the university

In performing its tasks, the UWr Council may request access to the documents of the university, and in performing the activities related to the above tasks, the members of the council shall be guided by the interests of the university and shall act for its benefit.

The council of the university shall submit an annual report on its activities to the senate.
