Academic Legion

The Military Recruitment Centre in Wrocław encourages students and graduates to explore the Academic Legion programme.

The Academic Legion programme is delivered through two modules – the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) Module and the Officer Module.

NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER MODULE

The NCO module consists of two parts: a theoretical part carried out at the university and a practical part conducted in military units, centres, and training facilities.

Requirements:

  • Student or graduate status*
  • Polish citizenship
  • Clean criminal record
  • Rank of reserve private

Stage I – Candidates must submit an application to the Rector of a university participating in the Academic Legion programme. The application should include: a copy of an identity document, proof of student status, and copies of any other documents confirming qualifications.

Stage II – After completing the theoretical part, the candidate submits an application to the Head of the Military Recruitment Centre through the Academic Legion School coordinator to participate in the practical part. At this stage, candidates may express interest in specialist training, including cryptology and cybersecurity, Special Forces, or Military Police.

Stage III – Upon completing the NCO module and passing the NCO exam, the candidate is commissioned as a reserve non-commissioned officer.

Stage IV – Qualified candidates proceed to the specialist training of their choice.

*Graduate – a person who joined the Academic Legion programme as a student and continues training in the Academic Legion School (SLA) after graduation.

OFFICER MODULE


After completing the NCO module and passing the NCO exam, candidates may enter the Officer Module. Training is conducted over one academic year, during the summer inter-semester break at a military university, concluding with an officer exam and lasting no less than 62 days.

Requirements:

  • Student or graduate status*
  • Clean criminal record
  • Status of reserve NCO
  • Verified additional qualifications and certifications

Stage I – Candidates must submit an application to the Head of the Military Recruitment Centre (WCR). At this stage, they may express interest in specialist training in areas such as cryptology and cybersecurity, Special Forces, Military Police, or others depending on the needs of the Polish Armed Forces.

Stage II – The WCR will review the application and inform the candidate whether they have been accepted or not into the Officer Module. Candidates interested in specialist training will undergo additional verification.

Stage III – After completing the Officer Module and passing the officer exam, qualified candidates proceed to specialist training.

*Graduate – a person who joined the Academic Legion programme as a student and continues training in the SLA after graduation.
