Improving language competences on the cross-border labour market

The project “We cross borders – we learn Czech. Improving language competences on the cross-border labour market” is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland. We are currently recruiting students from UWr (not from Czech-related majors) future graduates who want to take part in a free 120-hour (didactic hours) Czech language course, which will be conducted online. The project will be extended until 30 June 2022. We cordially encourage you to join!

An intensive free Czech language course of 120 hours x 45 minutes is underway, classes are held online on the Teams platform (in parallel in two groups) from December 2021 to May 2022.   • Partners: Pedagogical Centre for Polish National Education in Český Těšín, University of Wrocław

Project implementation area:

  • In the Czech Republic: Královehradecký kraj, Pardubický kraj, Olomoucký kraj, Moravskoslezský kraj.
  • In Poland: Racibórz county, City of Wrocław, Jelenia Góra county, Wałbrzych county, Wrocław county, Nysa county, Opole county.

Main objective of the project:To increase language competences and thus expand the language portfolio of 600 future graduates in order to increase their employability on the Polish-Czech cross-border labour market. Project activities will cover 210 people in Poland.

Who can take part in the project?

We invite future graduates of secondary schools and students who are interested in a future job on the Polish-Czech cross-border labour market to participate in the project, as well as students from the University of Wrocław (from all majors except Czech studies).

What do we offer?

  • On average, 120-hour courses in Czech as a foreign language for 210 students and secondary school pupils from Poland,
  • Free access to free teaching materials,
  • Certification of knowledge of Czech language on A2/ B1 level for 40 best students,
  • 8-hour lecture on intercultural communication,
  • Opportunity to participate in intensive language workshops lasting several days,
  • Easy access to information about the project through a communication platform – Graduates’ Club on the Facebook fanpage.
