Applications open for the START Programme
The Foundation for Polish Science has launched the latest edition of its START programme. Young researchers with outstanding academic achievements may apply for scholarships worth 30,000 PLN. Applications will be accepted until 5 November.
START is the oldest scholarship scheme in Poland for young scientists. Its aim is to support the most talented early-career researchers who can demonstrate exceptional academic accomplishments. Awardees receive an annual individual scholarship of 30,000 PLN. Each year, the Foundation for Polish Science grants scholarships to 100 recipients in this way.
Scholarships are awarded through an open competition, open to researchers from all disciplines. Applicants must not be older than 30. The main criteria for assessment are the quality and originality of the candidate’s academic work to date, as well as research achievements. Applications are evaluated in several stages by eminent specialists in the relevant fields.
The START programme also offers travel grants, enabling awardees to carry out research at a chosen institution abroad, as well as additional distinctions for laureates whose academic record receives the highest marks from reviewers.
Applications for the START 2025 competition will be accepted until 5 November. Results will be announced in the second quarter of next year. Further details are available on the Foundation for Polish Science website.
