Arqus: on multiculturalism and multilingualism in Wrocław
Since yesterday, more than a dozen people from almost all the universities in the Arqus Alliance have been on a working visit to the University of Wrocław, working within the framework of the ‘Plurilingualism’ working group.
As the name of the team suggests, its members are concerned with developing the information and tools necessary for our universities to function in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
This time, in a three-day workshop, they are addressing issues related to the preparation of linguistic and usable materials to facilitate, for staff, students and doctoral candidates alike, international mobility within the member universities of the alliance. They will also consider how to use new AI tools for this purpose and how helpful they can be.
Of course, at the same time the foreign guests will be able to get to know the historic campus of our University and visit a city they are not yet familiar with. The meeting is organised by Ms Agnieszka Zakrzewska from the Foreign Languages Centre and dr Tomasz Wysłobocki from the UWr Institute of Romance Studies.
Guests will stay in Wrocław until Friday. We wish you a pleasant stay!
