For four days, from 5 to 8 December 2024, the College for Interdisciplinary Studies participated in the Wroclaw Good Books Fair. This event has been held since 1992, and KMSI has been very supportive of it and has proudly presented its publications for the past six years.

Anna Ślusarczyk, a doctoral student at the University of Wrocław, has been named the winner of the third edition of the competition for the best research master’s thesis carried out in the 2023/2024 academic year at a university headquartered in Wrocław. The competition, organised by the Wrocław Branch of the Polish Chemical Society, aims to recognise outstanding research work by young scientists.

Smartphones have changed the world – they not only document reality, but also allow survivors and witnesses of crimes to actively participate in the fight for justice. It is also a democratization of the process of holding perpetrators accountable and a new challenge for the judiciary.

It is very important, therefore, that the results of the research work of our UWr political scientist dr hab. Karolina Borońska-Hryniewiecki, prof. UWr, have reached the President of the European Parliament herself, Roberta Metsola.   

University of Wroclaw and Academy of Land Forces named after General Tadeusz Kosciuszko have stepped up cooperation.  The agreement in this regard was signed on 6 December 2024. Rector of AWL Lieutenant General dr Marek Tomaszycki and Rector of the University of Wrocław, prof. dr hab. Robert Olkiewicz.

On 11 December 2024, at 9:00 a.m., the 19th Polish-Belarusian Scientific and Practical Roundtable will be held at the Institute of International and Security Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Wrocław entitled “Edukacja i nauka Białorusi przed wyzwaniem transformacji demokratycznej. Doświadczenia Polski” (eng. “Education and Science of Belarus before the Challenge of Democratic Transformation. Experience of Poland”). The event is co-organised by the City Hall of Wrocław and Wolny Uniwersytet Białorus Foundation.

The OPUS 27 and PRELUDIUM 23 competitions were announced in March this year, and decided on 4 December 2024. At the University of Wrocław in this distribution, OPUS funds will go to 12 and PRELUDIUM funds to 13 researchers. Congratulations!
