On April 2-3, the meeting of the COST Action scientific network “Regaining Linkage? Digital Technologies Improving Civic Engagement, Political Organizations and Democracy” (RELINK²) is held. The meeting is hosted by the Institute of Political Science at the University of Wroclaw. The event brings together more than 60 researchers and invited guests from 29 countries to debate artificial intelligence and its potential for civic and political engagement, digital competence in democracy, and the digitization of political organizations.

During the anniversary conference celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Polish Institute of World Art Studies, on 28 March in Warsaw, prof. dr hab. Anna Kutaj-Markowska, head of the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Institute of Art History at the University of Wrocław, received an award from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. On 28 March 2025, the Institute of Slavic Studies will host the fourth edition of the ‘Cesta k překladu’ competition, which is very popular among high school students in Wrocław. The competition is intended for secondary school students learning Czech.

Student Scientific Association of Contemporary Humanities Cultural Theories (Kulturowych Teorii Współczesnej Humanistyki ) has the pleasure of inviting you to a master lecture “Excluded! ‘Intellectual Disability’ and Political (In)Correctness in Cristina Morales’ Simplified Reading – A Perspective of Crip Theory and Decolonial Feminism” by dr Łukasz Smuga. The meeting will take place on April 3rd in room 125 at the Institute of Polish Studies of the University of Wrocław.

An open lecture organised by the IDUB programme will be held on 27 March 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at the Institute of English Studies of the University of Wrocław. The lecture entitled ‘Demystifying second language pronunciation: Insights from researcher-practitioner collaboration’ will be delivered by Prof. Andrew Lee (Université Laval, Canada).

The Department of Bohemian Studies at the Institute of Slavic Studies at the Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the University of Wrocław is organising an innovative scientific and didactic-training programme Wine in Language, Literature and Culture from 17-21 March 2025, during which students from partner universities – L’Orientale University of Naples, Masaryk University in Brno and the University of Ostrava – together with students of Czech philology, will take part in interdisciplinary activities with the theme of wine culture in its broadest sense and its echoes in contemporary humanities.

Half a year ago, a research group from Wrocław and Poznań, under the supervision and guidance of prof. Bożena Muszkalska and prof. August Schmidhofer of the University of Vienna, embarked on a month-long journey to Madagascar.
