Beyond Language 2026 – submit your abstract for the International Conference of Young Researchers

How to study language, culture and society in the world of dynamic changes? It will be the subject of discussions at the international conference BEYOND LANGUAGE 2026 which integrates researchers from various fields.

The event focuses on language, literature and culture as key elements of human social behavior. Endangered and declining languages, language minorities, cultural changes, and the relations between language and society will be of special interest.

This year’s edition is the first one open to researchers from other disciplines, such as biology sciences, as well as medical and experimental sciences. It will create a space for interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge.

The program includes subjects such as:

  • endangered languages and their future
  • anthropology of language and ethnography of communication
  • language changes and the processes of declining languages
  • identity, cultural boundaries and transformations
  • research on culture and society
  • modern challenges in biology, medicine and experimental sciences

The International Conference of Young Researchers BEYONG LANGUAGE 2026 begins on 4 April in Poznań and ends on 27 June in Vienna. Overall, it will take place in 12 cities and 6 countries. One idea, different perspectives and experience, beyond language, maps and creativity.

The conference is organized by the University of Wrocław in cooperation with: Adam Mickiewicz University Poznań, University of Łódź, Copernicus Science Centre, University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, University of Silesia in Katowice, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Wrocław Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Sapienza University of Rome, Lviv Polytechnic National University, University of Bucharest, ECREA Central and East-European Network, Technical University of Berlin, University of Vienna.

The event is held under honorary patronage of the American publishing house Æ Academic Publishing from San Diego and the academic publishing house Academic Journal of Modern Philology.

Applications for the conference and abstracts can be sent until 25 April 2026 to the email address: monika.piechota@uwr.edu.pl. Application entries require a short abstract in English defining the subject of the research, a research perspective, as well as 5 keywords.

Speakers can choose between all conference dates and places; the chosen city must be given in the application email.

The conference creates a space to present the latest research, exchange experiences and establish international partnerships. Selected papers may be published in cooperation with academic partners, such as a renowned, peer-reviewed and indexed in international databases Academic Journal of Modern Philology.
