Call for candidates for the Scientific Award of the President of Wrocław
On behalf of the Science Department, we inform that the applications for the Scientific Award of the President of Wrocław are currently being accepted. The award was established with the goal of supporting outstanding scientific and artistic achievements of the Wrocław academic community. Universities can nominate their candidates up until 30 June 2026.
The award is dedicated to creators and researchers, whose interdisciplinary achievements contribute to the integration of the academic community in a significant way and strengthen the prestige of the city as a scientific and cultural centre.
In the name of the Award Jury, the organisers invite Wrocław’s scholars and artists to submit their applications. Recommendations of laureates will be presented to the President of Wrocław. In case of choosing one laureate, they will be asked to deliver a lecture during the Environmental Inauguration of the Academic Year.
Application for the Scientific Award of the President of Wrocław should contain:
- a description of the scientific achievements of the candidate,
- a description of interdisciplinary activities,
- a description of the merits for the integration of the Wrocław academic community, scientific or artistic.
The application form and other important information about the award are available on the Wrocław City Office website.
The procedure of nominating the candidates at the University of Wrocław is as follows:
- Every scientific discipline can nominate one candidate.
- The discipline’s Council supports the candidate during the voting process.
- The Chair of the discipline submits an application along with the resolution to the Science Department no later than 19 June 2026 to the email address nagrody@uwr.edu.pl. Every application must contain the information listed in the attached letter from the President’s Department. Incomplete documents will not be processed.
The Science Department submits the documents for the signature of His Magnificence Rector and delivers them to the Wrocław City Office.
The organisers invite leaders and outstanding representatives of Wrocław’s academic community to submit applications.
