
Call for candidates to the Polish Young Academy of the Polish Academy of Sciences for 2026
On behalf of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, prof. Marek Konarzewski, we inform that the Presidium of the PAS, at its meeting on February 17, 2026, adopted a resolution No. 10/2026 concerning the election of new members to the Polish Young Academy.
Applications are accepted exclusively in electronic form via Electronic Voting System. The submission period runs from February 23 to April 18, 2026.
According to §57(1) of the PAS Statute, a candidate must:
- hold Polish citizenship,
- be no older than 38 on the day of the election (this limit is extended by periods of maternity, paternity, and parental leave),
- hold at least a doctoral degree (PhD).
According to §59 of the PAS Statute, nominations may be submitted by:
- three members of the PAS,
- the scientific council of a research or scientific institute authorized to confer the degree of doktor habilitowany (eng. habilitation degree)
- the senate of a university with the authority to confer habilitation degrees
- five individuals with outstanding academic achievements and recognized scientific authority, representing different academic institutions.
