In the world of science, every detail matters. Even those hidden in a thousand-year-old tooth enamel. The study described in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) sheds new light on prehistoric communities of the Nile Valley and provides us with unique information about the biological and cultural relationships between peoples of ancient North-Eastern Africa.

On April 2-3, the meeting of the COST Action scientific network “Regaining Linkage? Digital Technologies Improving Civic Engagement, Political Organizations and Democracy” (RELINK²) is held. The meeting is hosted by the Institute of Political Science at the University of Wroclaw. The event brings together more than 60 researchers and invited guests from 29 countries to debate artificial intelligence and its potential for civic and political engagement, digital competence in democracy, and the digitization of political organizations.

The prestigious journal Nature Communications has published an article entitled Evidence of isospin-symmetry violation in high-energy collisions of atomic nuclei (pl. Dowód naruszenia symetrii izospinowej w wysokoenergetycznych zderzeniach jąder atomowych). The authors of the publication are scientists from the NA61/SHINE group, which includes researchers from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Wrocław: Z. Fodor, M. Kuchowicz, M. Lewicki, M. Naskręt, R. Szukiewicz, L. Turko, O. Vitiuk and E. Zherebtsova.

During the anniversary conference celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Polish Institute of World Art Studies, on 28 March in Warsaw, prof. dr hab. Anna Kutaj-Markowska, head of the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Institute of Art History at the University of Wrocław, received an award from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. On 28 March 2024, the Oratorium Marianum at the University of Wrocław hosted the presentation of a report titled ‘Model współpracy Miasta Wrocław z organizacjami pozarządowymi w okresie 2004-2024. W kierunku europeizacji standardów współzarządzania’ (eng. The Model of Cooperation Between the City of Wrocław and Non-Governmental Organizations in 2004–2024: Towards the Europeanization of Co-Governance Standards). The event brought together representatives from Wrocław’s local government, NGOs, and the academic community.
