    The International Office of the University of Wrocław organises Orientation Days and a Welcome Ceremony every semester for all international students who come to study at our university.

    Representatives of six Polish academies have signed an agreement concerning the support of the development of biotechnology on Monday, 23 September 2024, at the University of Gdańsk. University of Wrocław was represented by the Vice-Rector for projects and international relations, prof. Patrycja Matusz.

    The authorities of the University of Wrocław, in response to the media reports appearing in the public space regarding the protest of students and the illegal occupation of the Institute of Cultural Studies, remind us that at the core of the University of Wrocław’s activity is to uphold freedom of expression, freedom of scientific research and respect for international rights, especially human rights. And therefore, we once again recall the contents of the position of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities on the hostilities in Gaza Strip of 20 May 2024, endorsed on 24 May 2024 by the Presidium of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, with which the authorities of the University of Wrocław fully identify:

    Stanford University and the Elsevier publishing house have published the next edition of the ranking of researchers with the greatest impact on the development of science in the world (the so-called TOP 2% list). Every year, more and more scientists from the University of Wrocław appear in the list.

    The Polish Philology Didactics Congress began yesterday at the University of Wrocław. This year’s slogan was: “Disapproval – resistance – rebellion in the educational sphere.” We are discussing the event with prof. Marcin Cieński and prof.     Aid grants for students affected by the flood

    Prof. Krzysztof Ruchniewicz, a member of the Historical Institute and Director of the Willy Brandt Centre for German and European Studies, was nominated on 19 September by the Deputy Minister Marek Prawda as a member of the Committee for the ‘Award for Special Services to the Development of Polish-German Relations’.

    More than 30 valuable archaeological sites, previously unknown cave paintings, fragments of pottery and stone tools have been identified by Polish archaeologists in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. This is the first Polish research at the site.
