    As part of the Arqus Alliance, the Arqus Student Ambassadors programme is being implemented. At the University of Wrocław, 29 ambassadors were selected, representing eight faculties (Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, Faculty of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Social Communication and Media Studies, Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Environmental Management), as well as the College for Interdisciplinary Individual Studies and the Interfaculty Environmental Protection Studies.

    On 12 January 2026, the FOCUSE team, consisting of dr hab. Alicja Krzemińska and dr inż. Anna Zaręba, representing the University of Wrocław – Institute of Geography and Regional Development, appeared on the programme „Eureka” broadcast on the First Programme of Polish Radio (Jedynka), hosted by J.     The University of Wrocław is joining the Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP). The 34th edition is held under the slogan “Healthy tummies for our children”. This is a unique opportunity to join forces and support the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in the youngest patients, thereby providing real help to paediatric gastroenterology wards across Poland.

    In the latest edition of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2026, published on 21 January, as in the previous year, as many as eight disciplines/fields of study at the University of Wrocław were included.

    The seventh meeting of the partners of the Physics for Technology programme, developed within the Arqus Alliance, took place on 15–16 January 2026.     On 11–12 February 2026, the conference “Wrocław Molecular Modelling Days” will be held at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław under the patronage of the Polish Chemical Society. The event will focus on modern methods of molecular modelling, their applications in scientific research, and the development of computational approaches in chemistry and related disciplines. The programme will include lectures by invited experts, hands-on workshops, and presentations by early-career researchers.     The Institute of International Studies and Security encourages readers to explore the newly published volume entitled “Białoruś przed wyzwaniem transformacji demokratycznej w dziedzinie edukacji i nauki. Doświadczenia Polski dla Białorusi.” The publication was inspired by the participation of Polish and Belarusian scholars in the 19th Polish–Belarusian Academic and Practical Round Table entitled “Edukacja i nauka Białorusi przed wyzwaniem transformacji demokratycznej. Doświadczenia Polski,” which took place on 11 December 2024. The organisation of the Round Table was made possible by the project “Free Belarusian University,” funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland, with additional support from the Institute of International Studies and Security and the Municipality of Wrocław.

    We are pleased to invite you to the 2nd edition of the Odra Seminar entitled “Między ochroną a użytkowaniem: wyzwania dla planowania przestrzennego, polityki wodnej i ochrony przyrody w dorzeczu Odry.” The meeting will provide an opportunity to exchange views on the most pressing issues concerning the Odra River and its tributaries. The Seminar is held under the patronage of the Rector of the University of Wrocław.

    Academic institutions fulfil a mission of advancing research and providing higher-level education. Wherever academic work is involved, disputes are to be expected, and these may sometimes develop into conflicts that must be managed in such a way as to prevent them from becoming destructive to academic institutions themselves — universities, research and educational institutes, and academic publishers — as well as to the individuals employed by them.

    On 3–4 December 2025, representatives of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Wrocław – dr hab. Bartosz Smolik, Paweł Skorb and Damian Wochnik – took part in the Lower Silesian Innovation Forum. The event focused on innovations in space technologies and defence.
