On the 24th and 25th of October in the Institute of Political Science took place a multidisciplinary conference: “Środowisko kosmiczne i naturalne środowisko Ziemi. Ochrona, zrównoważony rozwój, bezpieczeństwo i współzależność”. This was the third event of this type held under the same theme “Horyzont Mars”.

On the 23rd of October 2024, Maciej Kamiński, the head of Centre for Technology Transfer visited Łukasiewicz Research Network – ITECH Institute of Innovation and Technology. This meeting resulted from a collaboration contract signed between the University of Wrocław and the ITECH Institute of Innovation on the 23rd of September 2024.

The Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław is participating in the ReCall project implemented by Hungary’s Loránd Eötvös University in Budapest, entitled: A Study of Common Memory and Central European History for Collective Remembrance, which received funding from an Erasmus+ Tempus grant!

The group of scientists honored as part of the Polityka Science Awards already includes 392 people, who have received awards worth a total of more than PLN 7 million. This group expanded last month, when the Professorial Chapter selected fifteen finalists for this year’s edition. Among them, dr Ewa Górska (Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, Academic Excellence Incubator – Digital Justice Center UWr).

Ladies and gentlemen, Dear Colleagues, in the last days of October- as in the previous years – the University Committee for the Care of Graves of the University of Wrocław Deserved Members will organise the “Academic Memorial Candle”. Its aim is to cultivate the memory of the deceased professors and other distinguished members of our university community and to take care of their graves in the cemeteries around Wrocław. For this purpose, we will clean together their graves, put flowers and light the candles.

The 2024/2025 academic year also began with the UWr University of the Third Age students. In the presence of the Vice-Rector for student affairs of the University of Wrocław, dr Łukasz Prus, representatives of the authorities of the City of Wrocław, senior organisations, friendly institutions, the banner of the University of Wrocław were introduced for the first time in the history of the University of the Third Age at the opening ceremony of the new academic year.
