The Institute of Political Science at the University of Wrocław cordially invites all those interested in artificial intelligence and its potential in the field of civic and political engagement to participate in the discussion panel titled “AI: Opportunities and Challenges for Civic and Political Engagement”. The event will be held in a hybrid format (access online).

The Montanuniversität Leoben is another partner of the geologists from the Institute of Geological Sciences at the University of Wrocław in the partnership network within the framework of the European Union programme Erasmus+! The agreement between the universities was concluded thanks to the efforts of dr Piotr Wojtulek from the Institute of Geological Sciences at the University of Wrocław, who is carrying out joint research projects in the field of economic geology with scientists from Leoben.

On 28 March 2025, the Institute of Slavic Studies will host the fourth edition of the ‘Cesta k překladu’ competition, which is very popular among high school students in Wrocław. The competition is intended for secondary school students learning Czech.

Dr Michał Halicki and prof. Tomasz Niedzielski from the Department of Geoinformatics and Cartography at the Institute of Geography and Regional Development at the University of Wrocław developed the AltHydro system, which presents innovative water level predictions for the Oder River!

A group of ten students of the UWr Third Age University are taking part in the Erasmus+ mobility programme at the University of Cordoba.

The next edition of the Wrocławska Magnolia Competition has started!

On Monday 24 March, the conference ‘ Postępowania awansowe w świetle dotychczasowych doświadczeń. Praktyka organów I i II instancji ’ took place at the Conference Centre of the Library of the University of Wrocław. The event was organised by the Council for Scientific Excellence and the University of Wrocław. Participants had the opportunity to dispel doubts about promotion procedures and get answers to their questions.

The Wrocław Branch of the Polish Sociological Association, the Institute of Sociology of the University of Wrocław, and the Sociology of Work Section of the Polish Sociological Association, in cooperation with Wrocław Institute of Culture, have the pleasure of inviting you to the next meeting in the SocjoPercepcja series. The event will take place on the 26th of March, 2025 (Wednesday) at 6:00 PM (18:00) in Recepcja (café-club) at ul. Ruska 46 in Wrocław.

An article summarising the results of palaeoenvironmental studies carried out in the Jizera Mountains was published in the Catena journal (IF 5.4, 140 points MNiSW). It is devoted to sediments filling the bottoms of river valleys. This made it possible to reconstruct the Holocene environmental changes in the upland areas of the Jizera Mountains, comprehensively supplementing the data from the research on local peat bogs.
