    XIII Polish Scientific Conference “Local Ethnic-Religious Communities” took place on the 20th of November in Ostrów Wielkopolski. The event was organised by the Research Centre on Jewish History and Culture from the Southern Greater Poland and the Scientific Society together with the Culture Centre in Ostrów Wielkopolski. It is an effect of more than thirteen years of academic and local government cooperation, which has brought many initiatives and projects. These were accomplished by the Research Centre instituted by the Rector of the University of Wrocław and the President of Ostrów Wielkopolski on the 14th of May 2013.

    The 80th anniversary of Wrocław Geography – a look back [photo report]

    The Institute of Philosophy, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Wrocław, will host a visiting professor under the IDUB programme from 24 to 27 November 2025 – prof. Clovis Salgado Gontijo (Federal University of ABC [UFABC] / Seminário Provincial Sagrado Coração de Jesus, Diamantina, Brazil). During his visit, three events will take place: a public lecture at the Library of the University of Wrocław and two workshops/seminars held on the Faculty of Social Sciences campus at ul. Koszarowa.

    The training “Organizacja lekcji terenowych i edukacji regionalnej w edukacji geograficznej” directed to primary and secondary school teachers took place in October. The event took place as a part of the FERS project – “Uniwersytet Wrocławski: Rozwój kadr dla dolnośląskiego rynku pracy”. The project was accomplished thanks to the European Funds for Social Development programme 2021-2027.

    In November, the results of the competition for the best doctoral thesis on public procurement law were announced. The winner was dr Katarzyna Śliwiak, an attorney-at-law and graduate of law, economics, and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław. She was recognised for her dissertation entitled Zasada równego traktowania przy kwalifikacji podmiotowej wykonawców w postępowaniu o zamówienie publiczne.

    Historical reconstructions and sweet delights

    Archaeological works are being carried out in the Crypt of the Collegiate Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kłodzko as part of its renovation. A few days ago, researchers recovered the remains of Arnau of Pardubice (1297–1364), an eminent clergyman who is believed to have originated from Kłodzko.
