By decision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the strategic importance of ACTRIS for science and public policy has been confirmed: from the high quality of the research conducted, through open access to data, to support for innovation in the fields of air quality and climate change adaptation. As a result, ACTRIS maintains its position on the Polish Research Infrastructure Map as a nationwide infrastructure for aerosol, cloud and trace gas research.

On 27 November at 3:00 p.m., in room 218 at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, ul. Uniwersytecka 22/26, an open lecture entitled „Jeden pas i jedna droga, współpraca Chin z krajami Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej oraz strategia dyplomatyczna Chin” will be delivered by Professor Ju Hao from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing.

The past few days have been filled with intensive discussions and strategic decisions shaping the future of the Arqus Alliance:

The jubilee 20th edition of the Job and Internship Fairs KAMPUS KARIERY took place on the 20th of November in the guest spaces of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics. The Academic Career Office organised the event. “Wystawa Możliwości” – the slogan of this year’s autumn edition – revealed the character of the event. On that day, students had an opportunity to see how many places are available to them – these ones at the University as well as the labour market.

Work is underway at the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław on the implementation of the project „Centrum namnażania i utrzymania ex situ gatunków z II załącznika Dyrektywy Siedliskowej oraz zagrożonych wymarciem i chronionych w Polsce – Ogród CERES.”

On 18–19 November, dr Anna Grochowska and mgr Piotr Sobkowiak from the Institute of Geography and Regional Development delivered the training course “Planowanie przestrzenne w gminach”, organised as part of the project „Uniwersytet Wrocławski: Rozwój kadr dla dolnośląskiego rynku pracy” (no. FERS.01.05-IP.08-0451/23), funded under the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 programme.

XIII Polish Scientific Conference “Local Ethnic-Religious Communities” took place on the 20th of November in Ostrów Wielkopolski. The event was organised by the Research Centre on Jewish History and Culture from the Southern Greater Poland and the Scientific Society together with the Culture Centre in Ostrów Wielkopolski. It is an effect of more than thirteen years of academic and local government cooperation, which has brought many initiatives and projects. These were accomplished by the Research Centre instituted by the Rector of the University of Wrocław and the President of Ostrów Wielkopolski on the 14th of May 2013.

Wrocławscy geografowie przygotowali szereg wydarzeń, aby uczcić jubileusz 80-lecia Instytutu Geografii i Rozwoju Regionalnego UWr

The Institute of Philosophy, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Wrocław, will host a visiting professor under the IDUB programme from 24 to 27 November 2025 – prof. Clovis Salgado Gontijo (Federal University of ABC [UFABC] / Seminário Provincial Sagrado Coração de Jesus, Diamantina, Brazil). During his visit, three events will take place: a public lecture at the Library of the University of Wrocław and two workshops/seminars held on the Faculty of Social Sciences campus at ul. Koszarowa.

The training “Organizacja lekcji terenowych i edukacji regionalnej w edukacji geograficznej” directed to primary and secondary school teachers took place in October. The event took place as a part of the FERS project – “Uniwersytet Wrocławski: Rozwój kadr dla dolnośląskiego rynku pracy”. The project was accomplished thanks to the European Funds for Social Development programme 2021-2027.

The Nicolaus Copernicus Scientific Award, presented every five years, will go to three of our scientists this year in the categories of economics, mathematics and classical philology.
