On Wednesday, 1 October, the community of the University of Wrocław officially inaugurated the 2025/2026 academic year in the Aula Leopoldina.

– With the planting of the first of eighty trees, we are beginning a series of initiatives that not only symbolise our history and tradition, but also our responsibility towards the future – said the Rector of the University of Wrocław, prof. Robert Olkiewicz, as he planted the first tree, thus launching the cycle of planting eighty trees to mark today’s anniversary of the University’s 80th year, celebrated on 1 October.

The traditional singing of Gaude Mater Polonia marked the opening of the environmental inauguration of the new academic year for the universities of Wrocław and Opole.

Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy invites for an open lecture of the visiting professor – Dr Christian Pfeifer (ZARM – Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity, University of Bremen, Germany) entitled From kinetic gases to an accelerated expanding universe – The Finsler Friedmann equation.

The Magnetic Materials Research Group (Head: prof. Alina Bieńko) at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław, is pleased to invite you to a lecture by prof. Jerzy Krzystek (USA) entitled Single-Molecule Magnetism: History, Current Trends and Application of High-field Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Methods (Polish title: Magnetyzm jednocząsteczkowy: historia, obecne kierunki i zastosowanie metod elektronowego rezonansu paramagnetycznego w silnych polach). On Friday, October 26, the ceremonious matriculation of students starting their academic journey at the University of Wrocław’s Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures took place in the Aula Leopoldina.
