From 22 to 26 September 2025, Wrocław will host the 67th Scientific Congress of the Polish Chemical Society, organised jointly by Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the University of Wrocław, and Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. This year’s edition takes place under the motto “Building Bridges to New Discoveries”, which refers both to the symbolism of Wrocław’s bridges and to the idea of connecting different fields of chemistry, research environments, universities, fundamental and applied research, as well as fostering relationships between early-career and experienced researchers, and between academia and industry.
As part of the IDUB Visiting Professors programme, the Faculty of Biological Sciences will be hosting Professor Matej Germ from the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia). Professor Germ will be staying at the Department of Ecology, Biogeochemistry and Environmental Protection from 29 September to 3 October 2025. During her visit, she will give an open lecture entitled Macrophytes – an important component in aquatic habitats, which will take place on 2 October 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 in the lecture hall of the Faculty of Biological Sciences at ul. Kanonia 6/8.
As part of the IDUB Visiting Professors programme, professor Davi Rodrigues from the Federal University of Espírito Santo in Vitória (Brazil) is coming to the University of Wrocław. During his stay, which will last from 25 September to 18 October 2025, prof. Rodrigues will give an open lecture entitled: Tracing the origins of a rare cosmic explosion: the kilonova candidate GRB 230307A. The meeting will take place on 3 October 2025 at 12:15 p.m. in room 422 of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Wrocław. The event is organised by the Institute of Theoretical Physics.
The Department of Renaissance and Reformation Art History at the Institute of Art History of the University of Wrocław, is organising, from 22 to 27 September 2025 in Gdańsk, the Polish-German Seminar Wrocław–Halle–Siegen “Religion and Art in Multi-Ethnic and Multi-Confessional Gdańsk in the Early Modern Period”. The participants in this event, prepared in cooperation with Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the University of Siegen, will include scholars, doctoral candidates and students of art history, Protestant and Catholic theology and church history from the institutions named above.

The jubilee, 20th Polish-Belarusian Scientific and Practical Round Table, titled “Kształtowanie społeczeństwa obywatelskiego na Białorusi a polskie doświadczenia transformacyjne” (eng. “The Relation between Shaping the Civil Society of Belarus and Polish Experiences with Democratic Transformation”), will take place on Friday, November 3. The event will be held at 9 a.m. at the University of Wrocław’s Institute of International and Security Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences located at ul. Koszarowa 3, room 114. The co-organisers of the event are the Municipal Office of Wrocław and the Free Belarus University Foundation.
As part of the ‘Initiative of Excellence – Research University’ programme, the Faculty of Biotechnology at the University of Wrocław invites you to a seminar led by Professor Francesco Malatesta from Sapienza University of Rome, Department of Biochemical Sciences (Rome, Italy). Marta Krasowska from the University of South Australia (Australia).
