The Historical Institute at the University of Wrocław invites you to the next online meeting in the “Szewski czwartek” series, to be held on 27 November at 6:00 p.m. Dr hab. Krzysztof Fokt from the Centre for Source Publications at the Faculty of Law and Administration, Jagiellonian University, will deliver a lecture entitled: „Wolni, niewolni, półwolni? O statusie chłopów w monarchii wczesnopiastowskiej”. The language of instruction is Polish.
Archaeological works are being carried out in the Crypt of the Collegiate Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kłodzko as part of its renovation. A few days ago, researchers recovered the remains of Arnau of Pardubice (1297–1364), an eminent clergyman who is believed to have originated from Kłodzko.
On Wednesday, 26 November at 4:30 p.m., a meeting will be held with dr Michał Siedziako from the University of Szczecin, author of the book Marian Jurczyk [1935-2014]. In the Polish edition of the 2025 Náboj Physics competition, held on 7 November 2025, pupils competed in two categories: Junior and Senior. The event in Wrocław was organised by the University of Wrocław in cooperation with the Polish Physical Society, and took place in the Main Reading Room of the Library of the University of Wrocław.
Three disciplines from UWr can be found in the 2025 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), published on the 18th of November. Mathematics was placed the highest: 201-300 place in the world. Psychology and physics were also highly rated, with respectively 301-400 and 401-500 places in the world.
The Historical Institute at the University of Wrocław invites you to the third edition of a conference devoted to the 20th century in the history of Eastern Europe. The two-day event has been organised with funding from the Institute, a grant from the Rector, Professor Robert Olkiewicz, and the Dean of the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences, dr Paweł Klint. The conference has also received financial support from the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
