Today is not only a celebration of our Polish language. On International Mother Language Day, we celebrate the whole mosaic of the world’s languages – from those that resound in big cities to those that echo in small communities. Each language, each dialect is a story of people, their history and their culture.

On 19-20 February 2024, a scientific conference entitled ‘Deutschland und Polen: schwierige Geschichte, aktuelle Herausforderungen, gemeinsame Zukunft’ (Germany and Poland: difficult history, current challenges, common future) was held at the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Wrocław and the UWr Institute for International and Security Studies.

Dr Agnieszka Janik z Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego otrzymała Nagrodę im. Profesora Ryszarda Więckowskiego. Doceniono jej pracę pt. „Podwórkowe przestrzenie i miejsca zabaw. Studium pedagogiczno-kulturowe”.

Established in 2020, the Polish Science Day is an opportunity to recall the fundamental importance of scientific research for the development of the country. It has also become an opportunity to honour those particularly involved in scientific and academic activities with the Awards of the Minister of Science.

16 lutego 2024 r. na UWr list intencyjny między Ośrodkiem „Pamięć i Przyszłość” prowadzącym Centrum Historii Zajezdnia a Uniwersytetem Wrocławskim podpisali Rektor UWr prof. Robert Olkiewicz i dr hab. Wojciech Kucharski, z-ca dyrektora ds. naukowych Ośrodka.

Libellus de conservatione sanitatis humanisty Benedykta Reguardatusa z Nursji (1398-1469), czyli Mała księga o zachowaniu zdrowia, to rękopiśmienny przewodnik po zdrowym trybie życia przechowywany w zbiorach Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej we Wrocławiu pod sygnaturą III Q 19. 

Biuro Współpracy Międzynarodowej Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego, podobnie jak w poprzednich latach, zorganizowało Welcome Ceremony dla studentów międzynarodowych rozpoczynających swoje studia na naszej Uczelni w semestrze letnim w ramach programów wymiany.

Dziennikarka i bohemistka Magdalena Matkowska-Jerzyk,, dzięki stypendium Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego, realizowała projekt pod tytułem „Czeskim śladem Henryka Sienkiewicza” w kategorii film. Efektem rocznej pracy jest scenariusz dokumentu prezentującego kwestię popularności dzieł polskiego noblisty u naszych południowych sąsiadów.

Applications are now open for the latest edition of the FAST Programme – the Student Activity Fund – aimed at students and doctoral candidates from both public and private universities in Wrocław.
