Prof. Georg Schuppener from the University of Lipetsk and the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava will make two visits within the framework of the IDUB guest professorship. He will be visiting the Department of Applied Linguistics at the UWr Institute of Germanic Studies as part of the IDUB UWr competition.

Monika Wiktoria Pawlik, a graduate student at the University of Wrocław, was awarded second place in the Wrocławska Magnolia competition for her thesis entitled „Śmiertelność chrząszczy biegaczowatych (Coleoptera Carabidea) w śmieciach wrocławskich lasów” (“Mortality of ground beetles (Coleoptera Carabidea) in the litter of Wrocław’s forests”). The awards were presented by the Mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk.

On International Mother Language Day, we celebrate the whole mosaic of the world’s languages – from those that resound in big cities to those that echo in small communities. Each language, each dialect is a story of people, their history and their culture.
On 19-20 February 2024, a scientific conference entitled ‘Deutschland und Polen: schwierige Geschichte, aktuelle Herausforderungen, gemeinsame Zukunft’ (Germany and Poland: difficult history, current challenges, common future) was held at the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Wrocław and the UWr Institute for International and Security Studies.
Dr Agnieszka Janik z Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego otrzymała Nagrodę im. Profesora Ryszarda Więckowskiego. Doceniono jej pracę pt. „Podwórkowe przestrzenie i miejsca zabaw. Studium pedagogiczno-kulturowe”.
