On November 15 (Celebration of Science Day) took place a formal meeting of the Collegium of Rectors of Wrocław and Opole Universities. During the event, laureates of the Student Scholarship Programme received their diplomas. Dr Jacek Ossowski announced the laureates.
This year’s ceremonial open meeting of the College of Rectors of Wrocław and Opole Universities took place, as is tradition, on November 15 in the Aula Leopoldina of the University of Wrocław.
We talked with professor Jarosław Byrka from the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Wrocław. On November 15, 2024, over 1600 high school students from six countries took part in the International Physics competition Náboj. In Poland, the competition took place in three university locations: Gdańsk University of Technology, Nicolaus Copernicus University In Toruń, and the University of Wrocław.

A special concert will be held in Wrocław the day before to mark the occasion.
The celebration of the University of Wrocław takes place on November 15. The date is incredibly symbolic both for the university and for our city. On this day, the University inaugurated the first post-war academic year 1945/1946 with a lecture by professor Ludwik Hirszfeld – one of the greatest scholars at the time, known mostly for his achievements in immunology and microbiology. The first rector of the University was Stanisław Kulczyński. The event began the University’s development, with a new academic staff and a new spirit. That marked the beginning of Wrocław’s restoration as a crucial academic and scientific centre in Poland.
