Dr Kamil Blaszczyński from the Faculty of Social Sciences received a research grant entitled ‘Test przekonań religijno-nacjonalnych – narzędzie badawcze’. Five of our young researchers were included in the next NCN Miniatura grant.

The seventh international congress of the Central European Germanist Association (Mitteleuropäischer Germanistenverband) was held at the Universitatea Tehnică de Construcții din București (UTCB) in September. More than 130 speakers from 20 countries worldwide attended the congress.

A book about “post-German” items, co-authored by our scientist Anna Kurpiel and Katarzyna Maniak from the Jagiellonian University has just been awarded by the Polish Ethnological Society. The text, along with a visual essay by Łukasz Skąpski is a surprising description of attitudes and practices evoked by pre-WWII items in contemporary Wrocław and Szczecin.

The International Office of the University of Wrocław organises Orientation Days and a Welcome Ceremony every semester for all international students who come to study at our university.

Representatives of six Polish academies have signed an agreement concerning the support of the development of biotechnology on Monday, 23 September 2024, at the University of Gdańsk. Stanford University and the Elsevier publishing house have published the next edition of the ranking of researchers with the greatest impact on the development of science in the world (the so-called TOP 2% list). Every year, more and more scientists from the University of Wrocław appear in the list.

The Polish Philology Didactics Congress began yesterday at the University of Wrocław. This year’s slogan was: “Disapproval – resistance – rebellion in the educational sphere.” We are discussing the event with prof. Marcin Cieński and prof. Dorota Michułka – the organisers of the Congress and members of the Faculty of Letters at the University of Wrocław.
