Prof. Kazimierz Braun, dramaturg, reżyser, pisarz związany niegdyś z Uniwersytetem Wrocławskim, został w październiku 2023 r. uhonorowany londyńską Nagrodą Literacką przyznaną po raz 72 przez Związek Pisarzy Polskich na Obczyźnie.
Drzwi się zatrzaskują. Wewnątrz ciasno, słabe światło, smród stęchlizny. Z głośnika snuje się opowieść. Mężczyzna relacjonuje: chory syn, wyjazd za pracą, Holandia… A potem: niewolnicza praca w nieludzkich warunkach, alkohol, narkotyki…. Trzeba wyłapać z jego opowieści 8 liczb, aby otworzyć cyfrowy zamek, wydostać się i przejść do kolejnego pomieszczenia.
W nocy z 31 października na 1 listopada w krajach słowiańskich obchodzone jest szczególne, magiczne i nieco zapomniane święto – święto zmarłych, historycznie nazywane Dziadami. Tradycja obrzędu sięga niemal 1000 lat wstecz, a sama nazwa Дзяды pochodzi z języka białoruskiego i oznacza po prostu przodka.

In the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023 (GRAS), published on October 27, the University of Wrocław ranked high among the 201-300 best universities in the world in the field of mathematics.
The call for applications for the 2nd edition of the Young Researcher 2023-2025 Grants competition under the Initiative for Excellence – University Research (IDUB) programme is now open.
