    The Institute of Sociology at the University of Wrocław is pleased to invite you to a lecture, roundtable discussion, and workshops with Professor Luis Alonso, who will visit the University from 21 to 24 May.
    Luis Alonso is a researcher at the City Science Group and the project lead of the Andorra Living Lab at the MIT Media Lab. Holding a PhD in architecture, he coordinates urban innovation initiatives within the City Science Network, integrating energy modelling, urban simulation, mobility, innovation districts, and smart housing to develop human-scale ecosystems.

    The Department of Editing and the Department of Corpus Linguistics of the Institute of Polish Studies at the University of Wrocław invite you to participate in an interdisciplinary academic seminar entitled ‘Korespondencja dawniej i współcześnie – od rękopisu do edycji i analizy danych’ (eng. Correspondence in the past and present – from manuscript to editing and data analysis).     With deep sorrow, we announce the death of prof. dr hab. Zygfryd Siwik, who passed away on 17 April 2025. He was born on 18 December 1942 in Klein Daberkow.

    The Artificial Intelligence Olympiad is a competition aimed at students from Polish secondary schools. It also represents a unique opportunity to support young talent – individuals who are just beginning their journey into the world of AI and are eager to expand their knowledge, gain new experiences, and develop their skills at the highest level. The goal of the Olympiad is to promote key knowledge and technologies at the foundation of artificial intelligence. The competition began on February 17, and its first stage has just concluded.

    Unpredictable temperature fluctuations, especially drops, are a common phenomenon in the temperate climate zone. Cold stress, which includes chilling (0-15 °C) and freezing (below 0 °C), is one of the most harmful abiotic factors limiting the growth and yield of many plants. Particularly sensitive to such temperature changes are thermophilic plants cultivated in our climate zone, including the common cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.).
