Dr hab. Tadeusz Radoń (1929–2025), associate professor, was one of the fifteen students of the founder of the Wrocław school of surface physics – prof. dr hab. Jan Niklibowiec. Together with professor Niklibowiec’s students – professor Ryszard Męclewski and professor Zbigniew Sidorski – he contributed to the creation of one of the world’s most important field emission centers.

The Rector of the University of Wrocław, prof. Robert Olkiewicz, invites the university community to the New Year Concert performed by the Symphonic Orchestra of the University Philharmonic, which will be held on 1 February at 6 p.m. in the Aula Leopoldina of the University of Wrocław (Pl. Uniwersytecki 1).

Prof. Anna Pacześniak of the Institute of European Studies at the University of Wrocław has been nominated – as one of six people in the whole of the European Union – to the Committee of Independent Eminent Persons. This was announced on behalf of the Conference of Presidents by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

We talk about synesthesia and synesthetics, smells, senses, colors and letters with dr Przemysław Staniewski from the Department of Applied Linguistics at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Wrocław. Dr Staniewski has been conducting research on linguistic synesthesia for several years now. In the academic year 2023/2024, he was a scholarship holder of the Studienbörse Germanistik, which is the result of cooperation between the Hermann Niermann Foundation and the Julius-Maximilians University of Würzburg.
Conducting scientific research, especially involving the analysis of the laws of a country as distant as Chile, is quite a challenge. The year 2025 will be a breakthrough for us – says dr Karol Kramarz, head of the Incubator of Scientific Excellence – Research Centre for DNA Repair and Replication at the Faculty of Biological Sciences of University of Wrocław, with whom we talk about the research successes of the Incubator and future plans.
