The fourth edition of the Melodies of Three Generations concert, which took place on 6 October at the Oratorium Marianum, is behind us. The event was organised by the Institute of Slavic Studies, the Centre for Culture and the Arts in Wrocław – a cultural institution of the Lower Silesian Provincial Government, the UWr Centre for Student and Doctoral Activities and the UWr International Cooperation Office.

Dr Jan B. Klakla from the Centre for Legal Education and Social Theory at the University of Wrocław and the Centre for Social and Economic Research (CASE) in Warsaw was awarded the main prize in the competition for the best doctoral thesis in legal theory and philosophy organised by the Association for Philosophy of Law and
Social Philosophy – Polish Section IVR.

On Friday 18 October, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science will organise the First University Conference ‘Artificial Intelligence ∀’. The conference aims to bring together UWr researchers interested in the broad applications of artificial intelligence in research.

The winner of Poland’s most important literary award is not only a graduate, but also holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Wrocław. The award-winning novelist also graduated with a degree in Polish studies from the building at pl. Nankiera. She was also a doctoral student in Polish studies.

On 1 October 2024, the Community of Ukrainian Students and Academicians was established within the walls of the University of Wroclaw. WUSA is the first Ukrainian student community during the time of the University of Wrocław, with the aim of integrating Ukrainian students into Polish society. The community took almost a whole year to form, starting its existence with social integration meetings in a small but nevertheless passionate group of Ukrainian students.

The 36th Teachers’ Forum National Academic Conference organised by the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Wrocław will take place on 25 and 26 November. Representatives of many disciplines will focus on the theme of this year’s edition: “Pedagogy and education in the Anthropocene.”

Elections to the UWr Student Self-Government’s statutory bodies – the Student Parliament, the Faculty Student Self-Government Council and department heads – are approaching.

Dr Julia Chudzian from the Faculty of Biotechnology has been awarded funding by the National Science Centre through the MINIATURA competition for her research titled “Alternatywne formaty przeciwciał rozpoznające receptor 3 czynników wzrostu fibroblastów do zastosowań terapeutycznych.”

The Student Scientific Association briefly. operating at the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication at the University of Wrocław, together with former members of the association, wrote the report ‘ADHD. I jak tu planować?’ [eng. ADHD. And how to plan?].

Dr Hanna Kędzierska from the UWr Faculty of Modern Languages, Cultures and Literatures has received a grant to carry out research entitled. ‘Wpływ wymowy cudzoziemskiej na przetwarzanie błędów w idiomach: badanie psycholingwistyczne’. She is one of five people from our university to receive an NCN Miniatura grant in the latest September distribution.
