The UWr Faculty of Chemistry invites you to the lecture “From complexes to nanoparticles and back”, which will be given by prof. Pavel Kopel (Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc).

Once again, the UWr Institute of Computer Science will be the organiser of the ICPC Central Europe Regional Contest. From 13 to 15 December, our university will host seventy three-person teams consisting of programming enthusiasts from top universities in Central Europe, who will face complex algorithmic tasks.

Prof. Marcin Wodziński of the Chair of Jewish Studies at the University of Wrocław, who received the 2024 Prize of the Foundation for Polish Science, considered the most important scientific award in the country, talks about his scientific activities!

On 25-26 November, the National Academic Conference XXXVI Teachers’ Forum took place: PEDAGOGY AND EDUCATION IN ANTHROPOCENCE, organised by the Institute of Pedagogy at the University of Wrocław. The conference was held under the honorary patronage of, among others, His Magnificence Rector of the University of Wrocław, prof. dr hab. Robert Olkiewicz, and the Dean of the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences at UWr, dr hab. Paweł Klint, prof. UWr. Dr Monika Humeniuk of the Institute of Pedagogy provided the scientific direction.

With deep regret we announce that dr Jadwiga Kowalewska, born on 14 May 1946, passed away on 29 November 2024.

Our researchers have observed a strictly protected species of black bee on the campus of the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Wrocław. It is the first ever occurrence of the insect in this country region!

Three scientists from our university have received grants for research in the sixth and final round of the MINIATURA 8 competition, funded by the NCN (National Science Centre). We congratulate dr Paulina Czechowicz, dr Agata Draus-Kłobucka and dr Szymon Beniuk!

Last Friday, prof. Piotr Chruszczewski, director of the UWr College for Interdisciplinary Studies conducted a workshop on “Creative writing – tropami myśli mistrzów słowa” with students of the Second High School in Lubin.

The Teaching Exellence Award competition for teaching initiatives and projects aimed at research-based and student-support-oriented teaching has been announced once again. The competition is open to teaching initiatives and projects implemented since the beginning of the 2023/2024 academic year.
