Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union is drawing to a close. One of the final and significant events of this presidency was the European University Alliances Forum, held on 12–13 June at the Library of the University of Wrocław. The University of Wrocław hosted the Forum on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

On 11 June 2025, a meeting was held of the Committee for the adjudication of competitions for the funding of Teaching Labs at the University of Wrocław.

On Friday, 13 June 2025, a ceremony was held, during which 34 people were honoured with the ‘Wrocław Freedom’ badge for their activity in opposition before 1989.

Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at the University of Wrocław moved to the second position in the XIX Ranking Studiów Prawniczych made by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. However, in the ‘staff’ category, the Faculty took first place in Poland!

His Magnificence, Rector of the University of Wrocław, professor Robert Olkiewicz, cordially invites you to the “Wrocław Freedom” honorary badge award ceremony,which will take place on Friday, 13 June 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at Oratorium Marianum (main building of the University of Wrocław, pl. Uniwersytecki 1).

The University of Wrocław will host the third edition of the Forum of European University Alliances, which will take place on 12-13 June 2025 at the Library of the University of Wrocław, located at ul. Fryderyka Joliot-Curie 12.

Prof. dr hab. Dariusz Galasiński of the Department of Audiovisual Arts at the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication, together with scientists from other universities, is working on the “AstroMentalHealth” experiment. The experiment will be carried out during the IGNIS mission with the participation of dr Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski. The project is coordinated by the University of Silesia, along with the participating of the University of Wrocław, the University of Zielona Góra, SWPS, and LunAres Research Station.

Within IDUB’s program – short visits – a lecture by Professor Marc Hallin of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, titled “The long quest for quantiles and ranks in Euclidean spaces and on manifolds,” will take place. The event will take place at 13:15 on Tuesday, June 17th, 2024, in lecture room 119 of the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Wrocław, ul. Joliot-Curie 15.

After the first week of registration in the Internetowej Rejestracji Kandydatów (Online Candidate Registration) system (www.irka.uwr.edu.pl) we present initial statistics on the popularity of fields of study. As of today (June 11, 2025), we have 7967 registrations and 4606 candidates.
