The Institute of Polish Studies and the Institute of Musicology at the University of Wrocław invite you to an interdisciplinary optional course entitled ‘Jak rozpracować XIX-wieczny sztambuch’, which will be led by Dr Agnieszka Kuniczuk (Institute of Polish Studies) and Dr Grzegorz Joachimiak (Institute of Musicology).
The Academic Legion is a form of voluntary military training directed especially to the academic youth. It is a project carried out by the Ministry of Defence in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The University of Wrocław has been participating in the programme for many years, organizing the trainings for students of all universities in Wrocław.
In one of the episodes of Herbatki z Naukowcem on Radio Rodzina, we have the opportunity to dive into the fascinating world of Earth sciences with prof. Mateusz Strzelecki, head of the Department of Geomorphology at the Institute of Geography and Regional Development of the University of Wrocław, and director of the Alfred Jahn Cold Regions Research Centre. He is a geomorphologist and researcher specialising in polar regions.
On 24 October 2025, the historic Aula Leopoldina hosted the main celebration marking the 80th anniversary of Polish geology at the University of Wrocław. This exceptional occasion was celebrated not only by the staff of the Institute of Geological Sciences, but also by the university and faculty authorities, retired employees, alumni, representatives of other universities and companies, and, of course, by students.

Dr inż. Piotr Kryczka from the Department of Socio-Economic Geography at the University of Wrocław was a guest on Herbatka z naukowcem on Radio Rodzina. The discussion focused on integrated planning – how to reconcile the visions of urban planners with residents’ needs and the challenges of sustainable development.
Until 28 October, another edition of the international Escapetruck project will be running in Poland. The vehicle has visited several cities across the country, including Płock, Słupsk, Kołobrzeg, and Zielona Góra. This is a unique educational initiative aimed at raising public awareness of human trafficking in Poland.
