On 20 June 2025 at 18:00, a unique online meeting will take place with Nobel Prize in Literature laureate, Svetlana Alexievich. This is a rare opportunity to hear the voice of one of the most outstanding contemporary Belarusian writers – an author who has given voice to an entire generation and created powerful documentary epics about the human soul during times of war, disaster, the collapse of systems, and profound social change. Her books, dedicated to topics such as Chernobyl, the war in Afghanistan, the fall of the USSR, and the trauma of Soviet and post-Soviet existence, centre above all on the human being – their emotions, fears, hopes, and memory.

The Stanisław Vincenz Legacy Research Workshop invites you to an open seminar inspired by the thought and work of the author of the Na wysokiej połoninie (eng. On the high mountain pastures) cycle – focused on friendship, dialogue, and intercultural community. The event will take place on Tuesday, 24 June at 5:00 p.m. at the Institute of Polish Studies (ul. On Friday, 27 June, Wrocław will host a global celebration of the Year of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis – the Lithuanian artist, composer, and painter. At 5:00 p.m., the baroque Aula Leopoldina at the University of Wrocław will resound with the concert Hommage à Čiurlionis. The performance will be given by the State Chamber Choir “Polifonija” from Lithuania, widely regarded as one of the finest choirs in Europe.

An international online conference entitled “From Theory to Application. Wrocław Meetings on Computational and Experimental Sciences” will be held at the University of Wrocław from 24 to 26 June 2025. This will be the first edition of the event, organised by the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław. The conference will be interdisciplinary in nature and will focus on topics in theoretical and experimental chemistry, biochemistry, and physics — particularly in the context of practical applications.

The Faculty of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Wrocław will have the honour of hosting two eminent scholars at the end of June as part of the Visiting Professors programme, implemented by the Initiative for Excellence – Research University (IDUB). Both professors will give open lectures, to which the entire academic community and all those interested in science are cordially invited.

Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union is drawing to a close. One of the final and significant events of this presidency was the European University Alliances Forum, held on 12–13 June at the Library of the University of Wrocław. The University of Wrocław hosted the Forum on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
