UL: Competitions and prizes

In the nationwide ranking of student university legal clinics (law clinics), published today by Rzeczpospolita, the University Legal Clinic operating at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław has taken first place!

The Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics (FLAE) at the University of Wrocław has ranked third in the 14th edition of Rzeczpospolita’s Law Faculties Ranking in the category of public universities – and secured first place in the “international cooperation” category.

We are delighted to announce that on 24 June at 2:00 p.m., the Aula Leopolina at the University of Wrocław will host the diploma ceremony for the outstanding recipients of the prestigious “Young Researcher 2023–2025” grant. The entire university community is cordially invited to attend this celebratory event.

The Santander awards went to 16 first-year students, 24 students in other years and 10 doctoral students.

On Friday, 13 June 2025, a ceremony was held, during which 34 people were honoured with the ‘Wrocław Freedom’ badge for their activity in opposition before 1989.

On 30 May 2025, at the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Wrocław, archaeology students from all over Poland competed in the ‘Barbarian of the Year’ tournament.

On 17 May 2025, the Polish Academic Rowing Championships took place. Our university rowing team won two medals in the university classification.

Martyna Janaszek is a medical chemistry student at the University of Wrocław. But today, it’s not chemistry we’ll be talking about. Martyna is an athlete specialising in strength sports: bench press and powerlifting. She has been nominated for the “Young Talents” award in the category of sporting success.

Dr inż. Piotr Kryczka from the Department of Social and Economic Geography of the University of Wrocław has found himself among the hundred most talented Polish scientists before turning thirty. He has received the Foundation for Polish Science scholarship in the START 2025 contest.

The Foundation for Polish Science has announced the results of the 1/2024 call for proposals under the FIRST TEAM activity funded by the National Centre for Research and Development. A total of 174 projects were submitted for the call, and funding (amounting to nearly PLN 71 million) was awarded to 18 projects. Among them is “PROT-TOWING: opracowanie innowacyjnej technologii molekularnego holowania do selektywnej inaktywacji chorobotwórczych białek (eng. PROT-TOWING: Development of Innovative Molecular Tugging Technology for Selective Inactivation of Pathogenic Proteins)”, a project led by prof. Łukasz Opaliński from the Faculty of Biotechnology. Congratulations!

At first glance, the answer to this question seems to be “yes.” However, considering the increase in disinfectant consumption and the high frequency of mycobacterial infections, it is crucial to research the potential interactions between disinfectants, medications, and infectious agents.
