UL: Cooperation

Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union is drawing to a close. One of the final and significant events of this presidency was the European University Alliances Forum, held on 12–13 June at the Library of the University of Wrocław. The University of Wrocław hosted the Forum on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

We are pleased to announce that prof. Marta Osypińska from the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Wrocław has signed a cooperation agreement with the Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI), concerning the implementation of the first Polish archaeological project in Tanzania’s history.

The University of Wrocław has been selected by the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) as one of two Polish universities that will conduct a live connection with the International Space Station (ISS). Our University has defeated multiple academic centres in prestigious eliminations, winning recognition for its involvement in science popularisation and educational activity.
The Foundation for Polish Science has announced the results of the 1/2024 call for proposals under the FIRST TEAM activity funded by the National Centre for Research and Development. The Institute of Sociology at the University of Wrocław is pleased to invite you to a lecture, roundtable discussion, and workshops with Professor Luis Alonso, who will visit the University from 21 to 24 May.
Luis Alonso is a researcher at the City Science Group and the project lead of the Andorra Living Lab at the MIT Media Lab. Holding a PhD in architecture, he coordinates urban innovation initiatives within the City Science Network, integrating energy modelling, urban simulation, mobility, innovation districts, and smart housing to develop human-scale ecosystems.

The Artificial Intelligence Olympiad is a competition aimed at students from Polish secondary schools. It also represents a unique opportunity to support young talent – individuals who are just beginning their journey into the world of AI and are eager to expand their knowledge, gain new experiences, and develop their skills at the highest level. The goal of the Olympiad is to promote key knowledge and technologies at the foundation of artificial intelligence. The competition began on February 17, and its first stage has just concluded.

The Library of the University of Wrocławpresents the most valuable objects from its collections! All on the occasion of the double and exceptionally round jubilee of two important events in Polish history, which falls in April 2025: The 1000th anniversary of the coronation of its first king and the 500th anniversary of the Prussian Homage.

A new tab titled “Nagrody naukowe i konkursy” has been launched in the “Badania” section of the University of Wrocław’s main website. This space will be regularly updated with information about upcoming academic conferences, internships, research scholarships, and other opportunities for academic and professional development, as well as competitions for the best doctoral thesis.
