    The First Open Meeting of the Board of the Polish National Association of Doctoral Candidates in Wrocław gathered over one hundred participants from the whole country. The event was organized by the Doctoral Student Council of the University of Wrocław and the Doctoral Student Council of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences in cooperation with the Polish National Association of Doctoral Candidates (KRD), the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Wrocław University of Health and Sport Sciences, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Doctoral School of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of Polish Academy of Sciences, and Wrocławsko-Opolskie Porozumienie Doktorantów.

    On Friday, April 11, at 4:30 pm, we invite you to the Library of the Institute of Geography and Regional Development (Plac Uniwersytecki 1, 3rd floor) for an open debate entitled: “Bezpieczeństwo żywnościowe w mieście” (eng. „Food security in the city”.

The study described in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) sheds new light on prehistoric communities of the Nile Valley and provides us with unique information about the biological and cultural relationships between peoples of ancient North-Eastern Africa.

    The Montanuniversität Leoben is another partner of the geologists from the Institute of Geological Sciences at the University of Wrocław in the partnership network within the framework of the European Union programme Erasmus+! The agreement between the universities was concluded thanks to the efforts of dr Piotr Wojtulek from the Institute of Geological Sciences at the University of Wrocław, who is carrying out joint research projects in the field of economic geology with scientists from Leoben.

    Dr Michał Halicki and prof. Tomasz Niedzielski from the Department of Geoinformatics and Cartography at the Institute of Geography and Regional Development at the University of Wrocław developed the AltHydro system, which presents innovative water level predictions for the Oder River!
